From texas to amsterdam

Hi, I’m Marissa.
Born and raised in Fort Worth, Texas, I grew up in a proud Mexican American family —my mom’s family is from Chihuahua and my dad’s from Guadalajara. Food, culture, and family were always at the center of my life.

Three years ago, my husband and I moved to the Netherlands to start a new chapter. Exciting as it was, something was missing: the comfort of real Mexican and Tex-Mex food. We searched everywhere in Amsterdam, but nothing quite hit the spot.

The idea of turning my passion for Mexican and Tex-Mex cuisine into a career had been in the back of my mind for years, but I never truly believed I could do it. After having my daughter and finding myself in the middle of a career change, everything shifted. I realized I didn’t just want another job—I wanted to do something I loved, something that made others happy, and something my daughter could be proud of. I wanted her to feel connected to her culture and to our family back home.

As I cooked the flavors of home more and more, I felt myself reconnecting with my roots through every dish. With the encouragement of friends and family, I finally took the leap. One simple post—“Who wants enchiladas?”—is how it all began.

Today, I’m proud to run my catering business here in Amsterdam, sharing authentic Mexican and Tex-Mex dishes with people from all over the world.
It’s been an incredible journey, and I can’t wait for you to try my food!
